On June 13, this Wednesday, Speeding Bullet is helping make comic book history!
Writer Ian Brill is unleashing his own comic project independently, and as such, there are only a limited number of copies available.
In fact, only TEN comic book retailers in the world are getting any, and your Speeding Bullet is one of them!
Dracula World Order tells the story of how the greatest villain of all, Count Dracula, takes advantage of a world on the brink of economic collapse. ‘Before Watchmen’ begins!
Wednesday, June 6, 2012
The prequel to the best-selling graphic novel of all time begins this week!
“Before Watchmen: Minutemen,” written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke, is the first issue of the ambitious project, which will include seven miniseries.
“Minutemen” goes back to the 1930s to explore the early days of costumed heroes in the world of “Watchmen.”
It will be followed in subsequent weeks by “Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre” by Darwyn Cooke and Amanda Conner (June 13), “Before Watchmen: Comedian” by Brian Azzarello and J.G. Jones (June 20), and “Before Watchmen: Nite Owl” by J. Michael Straczynski, Andy Kubert and Joe Kubert (June 27). Later this summer, fans will see the first issues of “Before Watchmen: Rorschach” and “Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan.”
“It’s our responsibility as publishers to find new ways to keep all of our characters relevant,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee in a news release. “After twenty five years, the Watchmen are classic characters whose time has come for new stories to be told. We sought out the best writers and artists in the industry to build on the complex mythology of the original.”
Each week, a new issue will be released, and will feature a two-page back-up story called “Curse of the Crimson Corsair,” written by original series editor Len Wein and with art by original series colorist John Higgins.
Get in on the beginning with “Before Watchmen: Minutemen” #1, written and drawn by Darwyn Cooke. Check out a preview here.
