Guess the identity of Superman and WIN

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Prometheus page 1Have you solved the mystery yet? Who is the super-powered woman behind the cowl? Is she friend or foe to Supergirl? Is she human, Kryptonian or something else?

We want you to tell us who Superwoman is! Guess right, and you could win a copy of the script to Supergirl #37, signed by writer Sterling Gates!

Look for clues in the “New Krypton” storyline and the “Who is Superwoman?” arc that started in Supergirl #37. But don’t wait too long! Superwoman’s identity will be revealed in Supergirl #40. Winner will be drawn at random from all correct entries. Limit one entry per person. Entries due April 15, 2009. No purchase necessary to win.

Everyone is talking about what we already knew …
We can say we were Sterling fans from the very beginning. Now everyone else is joining the club. Newsarama gave issue #38 high praise this week: “Writer Sterling Gates’s script gives each scene a little more depth and emotional heft than we’ve seen in the other Superman titles of late” and “Supergirl has never felt so vital … Kara Zor-El has ever had it so good.” Click here to read the full review.

Also this week, Comic Book Resources is gushing over Supergirl: “No disrespect to the numerous writers who came before Sterling Gates … but after so many false starts and lackluster takes on the character, it’s a genuine relief to find Supergirl a fun book to read.” Click here to read the full review.

When the world isn’t enough …

Prometheus page 1… Scott Pilgrim rocks the universe in a new graphic novel!

Scott just turned 24, and things couldn’t possibly be better! This means things are about to get infinitely worse. Suddenly, two of Ramona’s evil ex-boyfriends are in town, and they’re playing dirty. His band is in turmoil, and his own exes aren’t making things any easier. And what’s up with Ramona, anyway? She’s been acting kinda weird ever since they moved in together. Scott’s precious little life is coming back around to bite him in the butt, and it may not be pretty!

Catch the newest installment in Speeding Bullet’s best-selling independent graphic novel series of all time. Scott Pilgrim vs. the Universe is the fifth volume. Missed one? We have the previous volumes in stock! By Bryan Lee O’Malley.

(Filming on the live-action Scott Pilgrim movie starring Michael Cera begins at the end of March!)

Happy birthday, Matt!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Prometheus page 1Thanks to everyone who came by the shop to wish Matt a happy birthday last week. He got a strawberry-filled Captain America cake.

PLUS …

“The Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists proudly honors Matthew Price for distinguished journalism 2007-2008.”

Matt won second place for his blog in the online category. Not bad, considering first place went to a journalist in Iraq blogging about the war effort. WTG, Matt!
